LUSÓFONA UNIVERSITY

TRIE / ISMAT are part of COFAC a non-profit cooperative, responsible for the management of Lusófona University, recognised by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education in 1998, is the largest private university in Portugal and integrates 10 Higher Education Institutes. It has a student body of more than 10.000 students and 1500 teachers and it is structured around 9 (nine) Schools that constitute the main institutional unit and offer 42 undergraduate Degrees, 51 Master Degrees, 11 PhD’s programs and 66 Post Graduation courses. Besides this, the university offers a large number of vocational and continuous training courses according to the life-learning development paradigm. The University has a large experience in research and project management of European and international projects. At the moment, the University has 12 (twelve) research units in several scientific areas that integrate more than 400 researchers and regularly promote scientific projects and initiatives. TRIE and CEiD are the two research centres for CoCoon application.

Expertise in Design with Circular Systems: Cofac provides an Academic master degree in Design for Circular Economy from 2021 in Portimão.. Design with Circular Systems it’s one of fundamental Centres of Competences in TRIE – Transdisciplinary research centre for Innovation & Entrepreneurship Ecosystems (one of the departments of COFAC for this project) Expertise in Education Policy Making: CEiD – Interdisciplinary research centre for Education & Develop – (one of the departments of COFAC for this project) its very experienced in Education policy making research and research projects such as being one of the Portuguese research centres developing the OECD program for Creativity skills and competences in Education. Expertise in Entrepreneurship Learning and Ecosystems: One of the projects departments from COFAC is the research centre TRIE. The centre focuses its transdisciplinary research on Innovation & Entrepreneurship ecosystems. The COFAC team for this project already implemented innovation ecosystems in the Education Sector and also projects focusing on the implementation of entrepreneurship ecosystems for learning and education.
